To answer my own question, have just googled the chalet and there seems to be a number of avenues to book it through, so if we want the chalet to ourselves we'll have to book it as a group.
Tony_H wrote:Right. Who is up for being party leader and collecting all the money in, or are those that want to go going to book for themselves? I have a feeling no one will be able to book for 2011 season yet anyway, probably until April/May 2010 at least.

I cant remember how many the chalet could take....

Think it was 11/12 if it's Genepy. I thought you were group leader?

Not sure about how this is going to work with regards to booking it, is it worth contacting them to say we are a group that will fill the chalet but will book individually?

I wouldn't go off beyond the markers, but as this Valle Blanche is heavily used I wondered if it was easily accessable. Obviously not haha!

I'll have a look at the guides you mentioned Bandit, I'd love to have a go at it, but im going with a group of mixed ability youe see, and I'm not sure they would be up for it.

I have always been lead to believe that the Vallee Blanche was similar to a blue run for most of it, and at 22km long a bit of a leg wobbler.

I'm ashamed to say that I lived in Chamonix for 2 years and never did it

might even cycle there but, possibly, not back

Me and Mr Nelly cycled to a friends for a cheese a wine evening in the summer, the journey back was extremely wobbly and Mr Nelly fell off his bike into the middle of the road

But as you know it is not.

I am sure that you will confirm that being a bluenose is no Yam Yam.

As for you Skidaddle, apologies for the typo.
Thats because I am a brummie and not well educated like you cambridge wannabes :)

So you're really a Brummie. And I'm really a yam yam coming from Dudley originally. Live down south now though and lost my accent, although it may come out after a few wines.

Tino - I still like to board at least once during my weeks skiing (saying that I didn't last year, probably because I was thrashing my new skis), so you won't be alone (much)

Crevasses aplenty and all that....

Well, how rude.

But so true :-)

I like the look of the Chalet Genepy. Sounds great, particularly the gallons of wine with dinner.
