Dave Mac, I have been checking out the cover and small print on the policy offered by these folks:

So far, quite promising, but have asked for and not been given, sample policy docs covering exclusions for skiers. Only the Key Facts are online.

I just chucked their name into google along with "problems". Check out http://www.ukskydiver.co.uk/cms/index.php?/topic/18050-problems-with-harrison-beaumont/

Read the Op and then look further down for an add on. On the way, enjoy the banter. These are guys that are falling through the sky at 150 mph, and taking the p*ss out of each other! Itmakes our off piste issues seem tame!

You are just going to have to buy a snow machine to pump snow onto your new roof! It will add even more insulation!
I drool for your view of the Marbachjoch, old or new snow!

John, your memory is getting really bad. Last winter was never less than fantastic. Think it was end of third week in March til I missed half a day, and that was semi-medical.
Now, where did I leave my rose-coloured specs?......

That is somewhat restricting. There are plenty of resorts with cut runs, the runs are cut zig-zag style down the section of the mountain, and where there is great potential for jumping between two legs of the run. You can clearly see the run coming in below, and ski off piste between the run legs. In the event of an incident, you are in full view and easily reached by the Alpingers.

I think Bandit has expressed many views on people in offices who have never skied off piste.
How many hours skiing between Waxes

Snapzzz wrote:So in resort, i guess its different from place to place, but on average how much does it cost to get a shop to edge and wax?

Also, having just purchased my own skis i was wondering about setting the bindings and such. I hear its bad practice to do your own and they really need to be set by a qualified ski tech?
Mine were set up buy 'edge and wax' who asked basic questions about my ski level, age, weigh, height and boot size so they could set them up for me.
I tried my boots on them and they drop in just fine.
Should i just go out and ski them or have them checked in resort?
Also can you bindings adjust or alter in anyway during transit?

I'm still learning all this stuff

You can check the DIN setting yourself. Check http://www.dinsetting.com/ and fill in the chart. It will calculate your binding setting. You can compare with the setting on your bindings. Check both the heel and toe settings. The Epic Techie will have been using a similar programme. There may some variation, ~ and if so, you may wish to have them checked before you start your winter skiing.
My readings come out at 8, but I always set to 7.5 ~ but then I fell only 3 times in the past 3 years, with no inadvertant releases.

Anyway, I was going up in the Gondola this one time, and man! ~ Nothing but a Lift full of bods with Music on, goggles down, closed eyes.
I was desparate for a bit of inane conversation. I specialise in that. I would have mumbled their ski-socks off.
Lift Pass Prices

Skied in Perisher in the 70s, the lift pass cannot have cost much, because we had very little money, hitched there from Sydney, and slept on a dormitory floor.
