Can't help you with that one I'm afraid. My brother would never wear a base layer, he considers it to be a question on his sexual orientation

Who would the main TO's be?

Thomson, Crystals and Neilson I am pretty sure do ski guiding, as do Mark Warner.

I've just priced up a holiday, and it comes to about £1500 a person, which seems quite a lot! I was hoping for under £1300pp.

 Ouch, that is either a Mark Warner price, or during the half term holidays? When are you thinking of going?

I wouldn't normally, but the forecast was not good for the day, and these were "proper" skidoos, so I went for it.

I doubt I will do it again though, there is only so much fun to be had on one of those.

Hi gadgetgirl79, and welcome to the forum.

My initial thoughts are to suggest using one of the big TO's who do ski guiding for their guests.

This way, you oh can get lessons boarding, and you can hopefully ski with a suitable group and a rep, who will show you round the mountains. It is often that after a few days, friendships develop with other skiers and then you can make your own plans.

Another option might be to book a room in a chalet, and hope that you can make friends with the other guests, and ski with them. Better yet, do a chalet room with a TO doing guiding.

Hope that helps.

Well, not actually Banff.

We did a day skidoo riding out of Canmore. These were the real things, not the wimpy stuff you get in most resorts, doing up to 80mph plus. We had to go to Canmore to leave the National Park, where these skidoos are not allowed.

The dunny was somewhere on the day out, but I really could not give you an exact location  I had enough problems trying not to fall off.

Someone had started to build an igloo by the dunny too, I think they wanted somewhere to wait while it was closed

And these were the skidoos

Great pics snowb4andit.

This one always makes me smile as well. It is an outside dunny we saw in Banff last year.

In that case, I think you should see if there are any cheap flights going, and get back out there to Ski with Tony

Seriously, sorry that everyone seems to have had problems. I'm sure you have made the correct decision on the interview front, and I hope it all works out for the best in the future.
For those flying out this weekend....

:(

Really sorry to hear about all the various delays and cancellations people are suffering.

I sure hope that those of you who arrive late get the best conditions of the season (apart from those when I go of course) and at least enjoy the rest of your holiday.

To those of you who have cancelled, I hope it works out later in season for you.
