Hi Andy,
Lovely stuff, you wouldn't have the spreadsheet handy would you? Or is that being too cheeky? |

Montgenevre is quiet, even at half-term, but you are paying a premium to be out during both French and English half-terms.

Those are the Easter weeks and the Brits are booking up the 1st week pretty fast. Pick your flights and resorts carefully or you might get a shock.

Grizwald is probably right. St Anton for the Apres Ski. However, there are alternatives. I'm thinking Deux Alpes or Serre Chevalier. Both of which have reportedly good nightlife, but are cheaper than the Espace Killy. If you can make you down entertainment. A place like Montgenevre gives you 400km of skiing at two thirds of the price. The nightlife however is limited to half a dozen bars.

It's a huge large area from Annecy in the North to Gap in the south. That's not counting the Jura or the Pyrenees.
Would it be a holiday home or a permanent place to live? It probably affects the location more than anything else. Rental investment, summer activities? work opportunities? You can go a long way south, Nice is only 2 hours drive from Isola 2000. Annecy, Grenoble, Briançon, Embrun, Gap and all the villages in-between. Or as Bandit mentions, between lake Leman and the mountains, although you probably won't find a bargain there. |
