This to me is a no brainier.... Walkie talkies win hands down....
Mobiles may be the cheaper option short term, but like iceman said you can't control what you will say etc and £10 will be gone in no time. Walkie talkie once bought will last you years, you use them as much as you want and long term they work out much cheaper. Plus you needent worry about signal. |

I had a pair, changed them to salmon last year. There good boots but unfortunately for me I didnt have them fitted properly and they were too big once worn in.
Can't fault the boots though. I think there still a little unknown in the uk compared to Italy... |

Avalanche risks are at 5 at the min so I would say your in for a great time just yet. There might be a lot of powder but that's no good if you have any chance of it slipping beneath you. val Thoren are reporting this....
VERY HIGH RISKS Scale 5 The snow is generally unstable, even on gentle slopes, many spontaneous avalanches are likely to occur |

If they have so much on the uppers, can they not shift excess to the lowers? I would think the temps are below freezing now so shouldn't it in theory stay?

 I like your thinking, and it certainly seems that way.... Would the insurance cover it or is that a whole new debate (sorry bandit) |

I would usually go in the preference of...
1. Height of resort/ snow record 2. Size of resort/area (linked) 3. Ski in/out 4. Distance/time of transfer 5. Cost of holiday 6. What's available on an evening, ie après ski |
