Scottish Skiing Continues through May

esrg wrote:i just dont think they have enough skiers and boarders during the week to justify the costs of staff etc - the funicular railway is open year round, so thats why it is open during the week.

They plan to be open weekends throughout May, and into June if there is the demand. We really should take advantage of the amazing conditions we have right on our doorstep (well for those of us in Scotland anyway)

Realistically how many more staff would they need if the funicular was the only offered uplift?

You're right Brucie. One of the reasons I have avoided giving them any of my money this season.

Why wouldn't the train make a stop every return trip? One extra stop wouldn't make much, if any, difference to operational cost.

bandit wrote:I can't post this on the thread started by Admin, so I'll say it here. It's weird that the lift company won't allow skiers to ride the funicular during the week.

It certainly puts me off going. It's not surprising that many Scottish skiers are well equipped for touring, as they'll need to skin or hike up.

I tried posting on a news thread a while ago and it needed approval?! AFAIK it wasn't 'approved'...

Bit of a joke really, surely the trains aren't running full? Can't imagine it would be too much extra hassle to make a made station stop on the way up, they wouldn't even have to make it on the way back!
