Terrific pictures, Trencher. (Apart from the burgher photos :-o )

How far is the area from places to stay?
Thank you Ally, I did do a quick check if I could do both, (ie, Edinburgh ~ Tignes ~ Niederau), but nay cigar.
Have already ticked Tignes, anyway! Many years ago, my OH booked it on teletext overnight, and woke me up, packing our ski boots! Short notice?

I must admit I was wondering this, especially for Icy, who would be very welcome to bring his dad as well :D

Erm........

That's a YES, then?

Are you coming as well now Dave :?:

I'm just trying to think why this thread now reminds me of a Greek Myth - maybe it's poor Midas who turns everything he touches into gold. So that anyone who now touches this thread has to come on holiday with us (or at least seriously consider it) as commanded by the Greek God Admin

Edit
At this rate we will have the chalet filled with J2Skiers in no time at all :D

Errm, nope Allie, this crosses my birthday week ~ always held in the Bichlwirt. I can't break with tradition now!
Oh, and Admin is not a Greek God, he is just a normal everyday Powder God!
OK, he occasionally steals your line, but I might do the same.....
Helmet Video Camera

I hate myself for disagreeing with Admin, but for many skiers, a chest held cam might give a a great view of their ski tips. Or worse, their boots! But I do take the point about safety.

I looked at a lot of helmet camera videos, but took the view that the output tended not to follow the line. Hence I elected to hold a normal digital camera in my left hand, and two sticks in my right. I felt that I had sufficient control to hold the camera steady, and focus on the line of the run. For both of the following runs, I thought a lot about the safety aspect, and in each case figured out a back up plan.

It should be noted that these are runs I know very well, and I realise this is different from videoing the odd holiday run.

So, at between 85 and 95 kph:

And, at about 65/70 kph:
