One combined bag containing skis and all your gear is going to weigh in at a lot more than the weight limit for your main bag. So you need to pay ski carriage. But the question is should you be able to combine the weight limit for your main bag and ski bag (38kg).
It's the way most snowboard bags are these days and ski bags are going the same way. Personally I use a hard case for my skis, having seen how they load those luggage trolleys! |

The French holidays finish 12th March.

You just need to know where to stop, there are plenty of good value mountain restaurants in 3V. Courchevel has the reputation for being silly expensive, but even there good value is available if you know where to look. |

Les 2 Alpes would be a good choice, most of the easy stuff is at high altitude.

Too low in February?
Also bare in mind you're right in the middle of the European school holidays so being close to airport/city will guarantee the slopes will be packed. |

A few of our guys have bought these ski bags designed to take all your luggage, great idea. On one of our trips last year they got charged for extra baggage because the airline said that ski carriage covers ski bags up to 18kgs (I think).
On our return we informed the ski operator who were none too impressed and happily refunded the charges. More and more people are going to be buying these bags, the airlines need to get their act together. |
