Ski conditions are ok, but they need some more snow. Very warm yesterday, 16c at top of Penken lift, so very soft. Bit cooler today, with a bit of snow this afternoon. Due a bit more tonight.

Used the new lift for the first time today. Peak morning rush, small fast moving queue, we were up the mountain within minutes.
Superb. Transforms the resort. |

Have to say I'm all for this one.
The bun fight to get on an overcrowded ski bus linking the resorts is far from a pleasant experience. I'd much rather have the two linked. Some linking plans don't make sense to me, but this one does. It's been talked about for well over a decade, at last something is happening. I just hope they don't lose sight of all the other lift improvements needed. |

Just watched test event of Ski Sunday.
Disappointing course for a World Cup event, let alone an Olympics. An Olympic downhill should be the ultimate test, this is anything but. Hardly worth cutting a piste through a national park to produce that! |

Hip flask was tucked away inbetween my ski boots. They are only trying to stop you bringing drinks that you intend to drink enroute.
The bar was open in departures. The problem was more the constant flow of people though the train returning from the bar. |

Yes, Friday's overnight service was quiet, no drunk people walking through the carriage at 2am. While I miss a nice bottle of red with our food, it was a better experience than previously.
Managed to get my hip flask through. |
