Great 3 valleys base, links are good, though Courchevel is a distance.
Ugly, but who notices the buildings when you're surrounded by mountains?
A lot of it is ski to door.
Double ski bag with wheels...?

And that low thump as ski patrol set off another charge. :D
Soldeu has opened a week early, happy days.
Huge area, well worth a visit if you are there to cruise. Fantastic resort for beginners and intermediates to build their confidence.
I went there a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it.
The black under the lift back to resort, called Avet, is a blast!

One of the best resorts in the world. Great skiing, epic apres ski!
You won't find too much about it from The Ski Club of Gt Britain as they had a spat with the resort a couple of years ago and now don't have reps there.
The Krazy Kangaroo is imfamous. Not least as it's a couple of hundred meters up the mountain and you ski down in the dark a little worse for ware!
If you are good off piste skiers, get a guide and ski the North Face of the Valluga. Serious skiing.

One of the very best resorts for groups of varying abilities. Easy stuff close to home getting harder the higher you go.

Ski down to Oz for one of the most picturesque runs in France.

The Tunnel for that 'ken ell' moment as you drop over the edge.

The Sarenne is just a great run, not particularly difficult, steep top section but it soon becomes easier. Then it's just the most beautiful run away from the lifts. Your legs will be burning by the time you reach the restaurant (where there are the most gorgeous newfoundland dogs.)

Some great off piste close to the runs.

Alpe D'Huez has everything, high snowfall and the sunniest resort in France.
Newbie to J2SKI - Niederau Questions

This brings back some great memories. I learned to ski in Oberau and Niederau back in 1989.
A small area but full of character, proper chocolate box villages.
