In all honesty I'll possible find it expensive as we don't ski the real expensive French resorts.

That's true for much of Austria, but Arlberg/St Anton prices are closer to the big French resorts than the Austrian average. (Lech and Zurs are more like Switzerland)

But then the quality of the skiing is well above the Austrian average too, so as usual you get what you pay for.

St Christoph is a gorgeous little village.

Is there a German word for queue? I wouldn't attempt to get on the bus between St Anton and Lech without a helmet!

The first time we went to Val T about 10 years ago a couple of our party asked the rep where they could find the best powder. The rep looked round to see if anyone was listening and whispered, 'try the Frog and Roast Beef Pub'.
All a little bit embarrassed when they pointed out it was snow they were looking for.

5 weeks tomorrow! Decent dump of snow forecast at mid station Val D'Isere at the weekend. Rain at resort level, but it's a start.
Plenty of time.
Chances of Good Snow in January

All should have good snow in Jan. Usually the best conditions of the season, plenty of snow and cold enough to keep it in tip top condition.
Enjoy!

Go as part of a big group, it's loads cheaper! (And more fun!)
I'm taking 21 people to Verbier in Jan. Flights, transfers, catered enhanced chalet, lift pass ski carriage and local tax all for £660pp.
Then 41 people to Tignes in March, Flights, transfers, 5* ski lodge, lift pass, ski carriage and local tax for £760pp.
Over 30% off brochure price, both booked back in April.

ADH is the perfect resort for groups, massive range of skiing for all abilities, some classic runs, great snow record and it's got a great record for sunny days too.

The intention I believe is to exclude skiers which go off into the wilderness on their own without telling anyone of their plans.
Not to exclude genuine accidents and mishaps where the insured has acted responsibly.
Of course that wording can be interpreted in different ways and could give a less reputable insurance co (or their out-sourced claims function sitting on the other side of the world) the ability to refuse to pay a claim.
A friend of mine is a travel underwriter, I'll ask his opinion.
