A spa village beneath Mont Blanc and close to many famous ski areas in the region including Chamonix and Megeve, a joint lift ticket is available covering all, in total about 800km (500 miles) of runs over a dozen ski areas. Passy is popular with indigenous French skiers and year-round tourists. Reputaion for health, ski touring and family facilities - culminating in a Children's Day every January. Through the season there are giant toys for children on the ski slopes. Passy is also a centre for ice sculpture.
