Hotel Spik, Kanjska Gora, Slovenia = £724 p.p.
Hotel Gruberhof, Igls, Austria = £768 p.p.
Hotel Sciatori, Tonale, Italy = £819 p.p.
Hotel Excelsior, Chamonix, France = £991 p.p.

Odd selection to compare. You've got the dearth of Eastern Europe and Andorra, coupled with Igls and Tonale and then Chamonix at the other end of the spectrum!!!

Tony,
I was searching for the cheapest holiday in all those countries, next Feb half-term, just out of curiosity, with Inghams, on the internet.

Thats what I mean. And you looked for Chamonix in France - surely there has to be cheaper places in France? Correct me if I am wrong.

I take your point about HB at half term though, Bulgaria is still slightly cheaper. I guess you get what you pay for.

Maybe it was a country of origin: France

Resort: Doesn't matter

Sort Price: Ascending

Chamonix happening to be the cheapest?

Tony,
I typed in 'all resorts' for each country, and then asked the website to put them in order of cost, lowest first. I ignored self-catering, and tried to make it fair by going for half-board hotel for each, 2 adults and 2 children.

I was as surprised as you at how expensive France was. I tried it twice and got the same answer. Chamonix was the cheapest. Try it yourself if you like.

Pablo,
You're quite right. That's exactly what I did. It doesn't mean that Chamonix is the cheapest resort in France, but just that with Inghams it is, for the parameters I entered.
