Anyone skied here, or in the same ski area ie Madonna di Campiglio?
I've come across a holiday package which is a good deal but don't know much about the place, apart from what I've read in WTSS, which basically says Folgarida links in to the Madonna ski area which has 150km of skiing. Reasonable snow record, and its Italy which is a bonus. Decent area for intermediates.
Flights into Verona which I think is the best option too.

Any first hand experience would be welcome.

I stayed in Madonna this year which links into Folgarida and Marilleva. Thoroughly enjoyed it--large extensive intermediate area with loads of cruising blue and red runs. I would certainly go again.
Took a 20 minute taxi ride to Pinzolo which is a really nice nearby small resort, however this season it is now linked to Madonna by a new gondola which is another plus.
The snow record has sometimes not been so good but this year it was great--also there are now good snow making facilities.

The only small downsides are if you are an advanced intermediate there are not many challenging runs and if you are into nightlife its generally quiet.
Hope this is useful.

We absolutely love Folgarida but you might find it a bit quiet in terms of nightlife. Flight was into Verona and I think the transfer was just over 2 hours. ( We have also stayed in Madonna itself, which is more upmarket and has much more going on than Folgarida, but also cost us more!)
We have been with mixed groups of skiers, boarders and total beginners and everyone had a great time. The beginners made quick progress with the ski school and were able to ski the lovely long blue back into the village by the end of day 2 or so and were also joining us on some of the reds. Some good mountain restaurants and good value. The link on skis from Folgarida to Madonna is via red runs which can be tricky for those lacking confidence, but there is a bus link also. There is a fun park in Marilleva.

Thanks for the replies.
I'm aware its quiet, one reason why it would be perfect. We tend to ski hard all day, go for a few beers straight off the slopes, shower for dinner, maybe a drink after and then bed at 10ish to be fit for the morning, so a quiet resort is not a problem.

The main things are knowing the lift links are all good and give a decent amount of skiing. The hotel I've picked is 100m from the main lift out of Folgarida.

Did a day trip to the area from Tonale a few years ago and I've been kean to go again. The minor linked resorts reminded me of 60/70's French ski stations on a smaller scale, but with far frendlier people. We enjoyed a fantastic days skiing on hugely varied runs. Been on my list to re-visit since, just never made it yet. If you go look forwrad to hearing how you got on.

P.S. seem to recall there was a self service restuarant near the Monte Spinale peak - worst (and most overpriced) meal ever in Italy - AVOID!!!! We did have some fantastic apres tho while waiting for the bus back to Tonale in an Orish bar at the bottom of the base station gondola just wish i coul remember which base station ..... the perils of getting old, the memory goes. I've a feeling it was Mireleva as that would be closest to Tonale.... I think.
