My boss,head instructor Franz, if asked by the Saturday arrivals, "when is it going to snow?" ~ would glance to the west, and then say quite confidently "Wednesday morning", before pausing to add, "about ten o'clock"

Along came Wednesday, bright sunny day, everyone having a chuckle at Franz, when, it started to cloud over, then started to snow at 9.55am. Suddenly, he's a weather god.....

Ihad my credit card out, until I noticed they didn't do it in blue or red.

What a bummer. We were having SUCH a good time!

Ski hire through Treffpunkt Europsport in Saalbach. Click on ski hire on the left hand side of the J2ski page. When you plumb in the details, remove boot hire option. Six day hire is 72 Eu to 92 Eu.

I used them last year, I hired for a few days, booked online in resort, but still went through J2ski.

Haha, Stu wouldn't have seen the funny side. He couldn't dig himself out!
I guess in that picture, he was only 1ft 6in high!

For those who remember Jan Stenmark on J2ki, he has just reverted to 2m skis.

Not to mention the new ski race regs, where the minimum radius has been increased.

I used to hoik up the tails and stand them on top of my ski boot when in a cablecar or whatever.

Extra 3" or 4" that way.

We all did that Andy, could make my 215 White Stars into 225s!

My mate, Stu, obligingly offerimg the base of the ski for you to check the length.

210 straights, in deep snow, steep run through the trees, on the Standart abfahrt, Niederau. Stu is about 5ft 6in.

It is also about how you feel. I have half a dozen pairs, ranging from 165 to 200. I am 6ft 2 1/2"
