Just sounds like the run was too difficult, especially if it became impossible to sidestep. Beginner and steep don't go together really well.

I have had a long hard think about this and Kicking Horse wins it for me despite: the bitingly cold and relatively dry climate; the lack of a real base area or any town other than Golden nearby; the poorly thought out lift system lacking any real investment or action on original plans and the fact it takes ages to get to.
