To be honest I wouldn't take my chances on Borovets at Christmas after this year and last years snow history. Could you not change it, the TO might let you, seeing as it's so far away. They might charge you about £25 admin fees.
Extremely good idea. Get on the phone now, tell them you are worried about a lack of snow and general conditions in Borovets, and see what they can offer you as an alternative. Austria, Switzerland, Italy or France is what you really want.

But if Borovets was chosen because of being on a budget then Andorra would be the best alternative. It is cheap and has a better snow history, and it's much, much better than Borovets in every other respect including ski schools.

No, wally, not those platforms. The actual viewing gallery at the top, felt like it was moving up and down for a minute....

Lol...That must have been your knees knocking together at the thought of getting down from the platform to the piste. The days we were there that was the most difficult bit!

Well, it can't be my left leg, because I haven't fallen off my chair yet
Put your ski boots on then, I am sure it wont take long

I have less than 4 weeks to go now, and I'll be doing plenty of falling over - providing I can get fit enough for my slalom lessons. If I get to do it, I'll see if someone can video me falling over and I'll post it up on here when I get back.

Mind you, I fell over a couple of times last week in the snow, on our icy hills - but luckily I didn't hurt myself. It would be too ironic to fall over in the snow in the U.K. and be unable to ski in France.

And I will of course try to lesson my fear of speed when parallel ski-ing (the subject of the thread) while I'm zooming about in my slalom lessons :D

Please be careful Ally, according to the BBC weather forecast there's more snow on it's way to you!

Is that altitude related?

That platform does move Tony.

Sm4sh, your excitement has made me smile. It's good that you've found this forum and that you are asking lot's of questions, so that you are prepared before you go. I'm sure you're going to love skiing and I would lay money on it, that you will eventually find a way to go more than once a year! :D
