This thread has made me want to give blades a try. Does anyone know if you can hire them instead of skis at Chill Factor?

I did have to wait at Turin for a few hours the first time we went to Sauze. They were just waiting for the next flight to come in.

Is there a company sellIng helmets using Natasha Richardson's accident I'm their marketing? If so that's pretty sick.
I think there was definitely media hype surrounding her death. Did anyone ever find conclusive evidence that a helmet would have saved her life? From the little I read it seems her refusal of treatment probably sealed her fate. I don't think the media hype can push sensible people into parting with hard earned cash for the sake of it. It will make people consider the options though. |

I can see the points that people who have had/witnessed head injuries are making. However, I think you can only warn people. You can't tell people how to live their life. If someone wishes to wear a helmet, a hat, go bare-headed then that is their choice.
I ski with many people who do not wear helmets. They are not idiots. Everything in life carries some level of risk. If a government feels it is necessary to pass legislation to improve safety then we all have to abide by that legislation or risk punishment. If no law stands it's up to the individual to make their own assessment. You may not agree with their evaluation but we're never going to agree on everything. |

Hear, hear. I think we need to decide if this is a place for Tony to headline his views, add unconstructive criticism, add rolling eyes smilies regularly below the posts of others or a place where everyone can discuss whatever interests them about skiing. The old saying 'If you've got nothing nice (or constructive) to say' really comes into its own on this thread. I've moderated online forums myself and know that hounding people with mockery of their posts does put members off. With a little consideration things can be worded much better for all concerned. Banter has it's place, constant posting on a thread to put it down does not. |
