Last week I had Tomintoul Malt Whisky in my hip flask. Others had Sloe Gin, Bramble Gin, and Damson Gin.
One of my other favourites is Frangelico Hazelnut Liqueur. Or Rodgers Raspberry Reserve (a mates raspberry brandy). |

Most operators arrange a day trip to Sonnenkopf, well worth it if the conditions are good.
If you're very good off piste skiers, it's possible to ski from St Anton to Zurs, but you'll need a guide. There's a route down the North Face of the Valluga which is simply epic. |

Just got back from an amazing week in Verbier. What an amazing place. About as far from a beginners resort as you can get, but for anyone who's into challenging pistes and off piste it's incredible.
The itinerary runs were all in tip top condition with all the new snow and were so much fun. Sunday was snowy with poor vis, but then the weather cleared and we got 5 sunny days in close to perfect conditions. I'll post some pictures tomorrow once I've been through them. |

In whiteout conditions being able to alert others to you being in trouble is key, best bit of kit in those situations is a whistle. If you ski with a backpack you might find the chest buckle has a whistle built into it.
The international distress signal is three long blasts. (to be answered by three short ones). The sound of a whistle travels a long way. A quick telephone call to your buddy would be the first stop though, just to say what has happened, least someone know's you're in difficulty and has a rough idea of where you are. |
