Well, it was most enjoyable despite the cold and freezing winds on a couple of days.
Hotel du Glacier is excellent; no queues at all, very quiet mountain, lift map is crap (the version produced by La Ros is much clearer), La Thuile has the slowest gondola ever built but the chairlifts are very efficient. Black run 25 in the Fourclaz area is the best run on the mountain, blacks 2, 3 and 37 are thrilling ways to end the day, not much tree skiing on a day of poor visibility that closed the international link, dead easy to get to Courmayeur and Pila. Oh, we left Turin this morning with the snow bucketing down! A few pictures: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=285155&id=610069872&l=b6613614ea |

Looking at those pics, I'm really missing Swisserland!

Sorry. I'm an enormous fan of the La Masse but it's not for everybody and the masses (groan!) should stay away.
Is that better? |

Great info, thanks all. Off to La Thuile for the first time very early on Sunday!

Definitely guide territory, but the rest of the La Masse, I think, is the best ski-ing in the Three Valleys when the snow is good.

Might see you in Torino Airport then - my antisocial take-off is 0525! I'm staying at the Hotel Du Glacier with Neilson.
