For more stability go for something a little fatter than you may be used to (high 70's/low 80's)

Best thing to do is to try a few different pairs and make your own mind up... do you have a snowdome nearby?

Chances are they don't sell outerwear, why would you want it without having tried it or even seen it...

I had a Giro Fuse (think it cost me about $240 but that wasn't a kids helmet) and it is no cooler than my Sweet Trooper which I'm not sure has any vents :lol:
