Offpiste advice for noobies
Started by User in Ski Chatter, 67 Replies
Really good post this, I ventured of Piste last year in fresh snow and loved it, but looking back I was very stupid to have done so as I was skiing alone in Sauze d'oux and was down the side of a very steep black, the resort had been very dry during the whole of January and then had a massive dump at the end.

Excitment just over took me and I was off, the visalbilty was very low and I didn't have a clue as to what I was skiing into and lauched myself off a quite a drop with out knowing, lucky for me when I landed i managed to stay on my feet and that was the end of my off piste sking, a little scared but unharmed.

I have have set up a group on Alpinereplay.com for J2ski.com.

All you need to do is register, or sign in with facebook or twitter and search for j2ski.com ski group.

It says it's based in Tignes but anybody anywhere in the world can join no matter where you are skiing.

Will be good to see other peoples stats.

As I am the out rider for the J2ski.com Tignes trip I will set the bench mark for Tignes.

I really enjoyed using this app last year made my 3 days on the mountain a little more fun,and gave me something to talk about at the end of the day.

Ski boot heaters

My girlfriend got cold feet walking to work and generally feels the cold, but we both used Boot gloves last year and thought they were amazing.

The hotel we were staying in had a boot heat where we stored our boots over night, We would put our boot on and do them stright up and put the boot glove on and my feet would actually feel warm untill we stoped at dinner.

Really simple but affective.

Its because they have seen your ski jacket, Matt.

Just kidding!
