Hi. I have the opportunity to combine some business with a couple of day's skiing, which would be in Semmering. Does anyone have any experience of skiing there and maybe a recommendation for somewhere to stay for a few nights ?
Thanks. |

Ally: I seem to remember you mentioning in a post several months ago you had been fitted for your own first pair of ski boots. Do you recommend this, rather thsn hiring ? What was the place you had them done ? Thanks ! (Off to Niederau again 2nd week Jan so may get some for the first time).

Hi
I took a ski package to Austria in January with one of the Big Travel Operators, booking it about one week before I went. I thought I'd like to go back and do the same package in January next year, but checking it out with the same Big Travel Operator now the price is considerably more than I paid in Jan 2010. In general, do prices from these travel operators fluctuate much, and if I wait until December would I be likely to find that the price had dropped (assuming there were spaces) ? Any experiences welcome ! Thanks. |

To Dave Mac:
Hi Dave. I read in another post of yours that you practise ski technique throughout the year and then try to put it into practice when you ski. I'd like to ask how you practise during the year ? Do you mean you use artificial slopes, or watch dvds, or what ? Somebody mentioned a dvd called Sofa Ski School elsewhere. Do you know this one and is it any good ? As a beginner turning into an early intermediate I'm determined to improve within my capabilities, but without setting any unrealistic or "macho" goals for myself - too old ! |
