Sounds great, my sister's off to La Plagne on 21st March, I'll tell her the snow's great.
Horrible to be back? I still haven't been yet! April 5th roll on |

As the saying goes....A bad day on the slopes is better than a good day in the office....

Thanks to you as well Magpie. I have known people use Peak Retreats and have a very successful holiday.
I see how the system works now - which I didn't when I posted the message. We have decided to wait until nearer the time to buy our passes, or get them in resort. This is because we may decide to have a day or two somewhere else if the snow's not too great. We're going to Les Saisies (5th April) and the snow is looking good at the moment. So fingers crossed we can have our 6 days there. Hope we don't take too big a hit on the exchange rate! |

It's in France but if you were the same people you'd know that!

Thanks Ally. Yes, you are right...I think they are ok.
I spoke to them after I posted this message. Annoying thing is they don't do the junior lift pass (called 'reduced' where we're going) so teens pay adult price. The difference is about 8 quid at today's exchange rate. And they require a photo for passes over 3 days which the resort don't..... According to website. I'm havin a think about it..... Thanks again, Dids |

burning thighs after about 30 to 40 mins of skiing

I'm quite interested by these replies as I was told by a fellow skier that if my thighs did not burn then I was doing something wrong.
I don't claim to to be anywhere near an expert skier (very far from it) but my legs are quite strong. I was chastised several times last year for not stopping enough when leading a group, my legs simply did not ache. I don't see that pain is necessarily related to good technique. I do lean forward into my boots and this technique has been greatly helped by footbeds which reduce heel lift. |
