Just for any of you who maybe heading that way......we've just returned from a great New Year week in Kaprun. Lovely resort and family friendly unlike the euro rate!!

Luckily we stayed half board but still managed to spend around £1500 in one week. With one supermarket to shop in the current euro rate made things very pricey and near double on some things. 16e for a £5 bag of nappies!!
Hi thank you all......we're all excited and looking forward to some snow.

I'll let you know how it went on return!
We're off on 27th December, never been to Kaprun before. Any tips or knowledge of hotel - travelling with children so hoping it'll be good for families.

Thanks

Hi silverfret

We went to Kitz this year (March) and has a fantastic time. The snow was poor but we had a massive dump on second day which was amazing. My husband had been there 3/4 weeks before on a boys weekend and they loved it. All boarders, the horn yes also thy went to Westendorf for a day for a change. There is a good park too. We stayed at Chalet Karlbeger which was right opposite the nursery slope and up road from main lift. The apres ski is fab too - The Londoner is one of the most popular places.

You'll have a riot I'm sure!

Given that the packge ski holidays will be going on sale over next month or two........how do you book your ski trips? With a well known tour operator as a package or directly with your chosen accommodation and arrange flights and transfers yourself?

Just interested to see as we all want the cheapest deals in the current climate.
Thank you all, I agree with everyone's thoughts. I think we may let her try them on and see, definately not ski school, more a case of if you thought it was appropriate for her to at least try to stand on them.

I still argue with the eldest 2 (8 & 11) to get them into ski school which I do think is a long day, 2hrs in morning and 2hrs in the afternoon. As my eldest says 'Mum it is a family holiday so I want to spend it with my family!' Fair comment!!

Thank you all.
Our youngest will be 2yrs & 5months at New Year when we go to Kaprun. My husband thinks she's old enough to try it out. She is a feisty little thing with an older brother who ski so I think she'd be up for it.

What ages did you start your children from?

:)
