Thanks Dave. Heard it's not too pretty a resort but a good gang going so should be a crack!
Hi all

Has anyone got any suggestions for airport transfers to Alpe d'Huez from Chambery airport? The cheapest option I can findis car hire at £80.

Thanks

Hi

We've been to Lapland 9......yes 9 times but each time stayed in Levi so I can only advise on that. The children went from aged 18mth to 10yrs. They LOVED it and are disappointed it's kaprun this year and not Lapland. Good points are - very beautiful, winter wonder land, guaranteed snow. Lesser points are - cold as i minus 30 but this is January time BUT even though it's cold it is a dry cold so not as cold as you'd think but several years we've needed balaclavas! However I see you're going in March. We went with Inghams and trips are pricey but amazing, Ice Hotel, skidoo trips, Santa in the woods etc.

I would advise - plenty of warm clothes, no need to for anything formal or dressy us you'll only venture out in thermal ski gear. Take a phrase book if you intend to sefl caterer and shop.

All in all you'll love it - we booked private lessons as some children found the cold too much for ski school duration. Instructors speak good english and they cater well for kids.

My advice - wrap up, look forward to it and make the most of the amazing scenery and of course the Northern Lights!
The children are 11 (girl) 8 (boy) and 2 (girl) at the moment. We are looking for the best accomodation and location given the age of the children and I don't ski or board due to injury to cruciate. My husband boards and wants to take the children up the mountains but nothing to hairy for the children.

Accomomodation wise needs to be central for ease of mobility and of a good standard with plenty of options for entertaining the children in and evening.
There's talk of going to Banff in Easter 2010 (tied to school holidays). Can anyone recommend accommodation - I've looked at Fox Inn & Suites and also Banff Rocky Mountain Resort Condos. Our family is 5 so we need to be in one room, would like a pool. Non skier in the group also.

Anyone who's been who can advise on resort, accommodation, tips etc. We're also thinking of booking separately rather than a package.

Thanks in advance!

Well......totally out of the blue the agents rang to say the tour operator has knocked £1100 off the price so now we're staying in a 4*hotel in Kaprun with all the trimmings at a fair price so we're going for New Year!!!

However, the agent has no idea why the tour operator have done this so we're keeping our heads down and looking forward to it.

Thanks for all the advice. :)
Just emailed them for availability - thanks very much.
Founda nice hotel in Igls - has anyone been? Any good for families and non skiers?

Thanks in advance!
