The most useless or naff!

Talking about naff - I purchased some new poles for a trip back in February. On the first day of the holiday I completed a black run in Ponte di Legno to discover the straps had become detached from the poles. On close inspection, the nylon straps had frayed right through by the hole by which it is attached to the retaining pin. I borrowed a spare pair from a friend. I was going to take them back to the retailers however, it appears that this was a design fault  and I would have been fobbed off with an exchange pair and the same problem! The pole itself is a nice thin composite and I like the poles. So I have made my own straps but will have to wait until December to try them out.

I am not sure if I can name the poles on this post (legal reasons) but they were purchased from a well known retailer.

Yes I get your point. We have booked up for the white week again in December however, that will be our third visit and as you say there are so many new places to explore. We are tempted to give Lech a visit but are not sure if you can ski there in early December?

Anyway, have a great time. :D

Enjoy Caron, Are you still going to Ober'g next season?
I,m with Tony on that - Sauze d'Oulx is great for cruising the tree lined runs and it is somewhat cheaper than many resorts.

Dislocated elbow in Niederau
Started by User in Austria, 9 Replies
Ah, Soft drinks only for you in future. ) The pain is likely because the elbow area is covered with many nerve endings and the joint itself is a complex one allowing extension, rotation and flexion. Hence when injured it can become complicated. You can purchase, if required, one of those elasticated supports.

Sorry to hear about your elbow injury, elbows, when injured, pose problems and the Doctor is giving you the worst senario. However, with intense physio and the will to regain as much movement as possible you will be back on the piste before to long. I have a friend who has suffered a severe elbow injury which required surgery. This resulted in the loss of some extension in the injured arm however, he continues to ski with no problems. It is just such bad luck slipping up outside the hotel!
