I agree, the green back to resort can be terrible.........narrow, busy and can get quite slushy. Last year (week 3 of my ski-ing career) I came back of the valentin black run - very scary first time but amazing every other time!

Me 11 year old usually (until Jan) skis back with me to the top of the last black, then comes back on the chair lift - 5 minutes and never busy on the way back

I have been checking the snow forecasts for about two months now - 3 or 4 times a day!

There seems to be a decent bas now even at resort level although a fair bit of freeze/thaw has happened this last week.

Good forecast for the next few days so you should be ok for the 20th..................please go easy though as I would like som snow left for Jan 10th!

If I don't have to pay for it why should my J2ski friends

Getting fit for skiing

Only excuse I have is that post-ski depression from last season brings on deep lethargy, then around October the blues lift and the motivation returns.........
Feeling very sore all over...wish it was January

Need a little bit of fitness to start with..combination of age, beer, office job and general lethargy = belly that would start an avalanche

Obviously I've picked up on this thread too late for the serious comments.....now down to pub exercise....!
Me? I'm off to tennis cardio (a lot of running around a tennis court without actually playing tennis) to try to raise my fitness before starting the gruelling "ski-fit" class at the gym.
First time for everything but the odd looks I got from instuctors when I enrolled was disconcerting!
Unfortuately I won't be able to join in the fun on two counts;

1 No Jocks welcomed!
2 Can't do 2nd week in Jan........1st, 3rd or any other week or month would be definate.

I will watch with anticipation to see what is agreed going forward...
