Short break in the PDS?
Started by User in France, 5 Replies
Can anyone suggest a hotel or chalet hotel in the portes du soleil that will take reservations for a 4 night mid-week break?
Ideally....
Lively but not Ibiza
On or very close to slopes
3 star plus....too old to rough it!
Breakfast included and possibly dinner
Looking at Feb 3rd
Thanks

After a week of hard skiing, the Daleboots are fantastic! Day 1 was a bit concerning - left foot very tight (larger size than right foot) but from day 2 the boots very super comfy.
After many years of pain my skiing has improved as the boots re-align my stance and I can relax and enjoy the experience all day everyday.
Can't recommend them enough.

Collected my shiny new DaleBoots today after a 90min fitting at Outdoor Traders in Abingdon......OMG! After 5 years of pain and daily OD of nurofen, they are like wearing an old pair of slippers. No pressure points, numbness or discomfort of any kind.....they even realign my "knock" right knee.
Two trips from Edinburgh and 3 hours of measuring and fitting later.........My expectations have been well and truly surpassed.
Service was fantastic....measured and ordered on December 18th....made in Austria to arrive in England on Jan 3rd
Many thanks to CEM at solutions4feet for recommending Daleboots (nothing else was going to work) and to James and team at outdoor traders.....

Of course I haven't actually worn them in anger. 7.30am flight tomorrow to Morzine for a week of punishing tests will complete the appraisal

Watch this space!

Adam Slater wrote:My feet sound the same shape as yours. Wide and high instep? I bought a cheap pair of head ez 10 years ago for £70 and never had any problems (2 trips a year).I decided time for a new pair this year and waited til I got to Wengen to test/rent a new pair. 1st shop gave up but eventually a bigger shop dug deep and found a pair of boots to fit (at least 10 pairs later). They are new and I am renting unless I like and decide to buy them. The make is head again and 2 days into holiday and still no problems. Seems head are best place to start. Good luck

Hi Adam, tried about 40 different boots on in 5 different shops......to be fair, heads were usually the least bad but nowhere near comfortable!

Custom made Daleboot VFF Pro's are on their way from Austria to be fitted on Friday before I head to Morzine on Saturday!

Cutting it a bit fine but hopefully it will all be worth it in the end

Well, flight from Edinburgh to Bimingham, car hire to Bicester and an hour with Colin.......still no boots that fit!
Colin refferred me to James who has measured everything and ordered a pair of Daleboots that will hopefully be delivered by Jan 3rd!
Tight calves are my problem...not wide or webbed after all.

Well, I asked for advice so I guess I should follow through and do what the experts suggest!
Flying visit to Bicester now scheduled to let Cem strut his stuff.....
