Great to have a consensus of opinion.......simply reflect the fact that we are all different.
I did wonder about waiting until I am in resort but worry that with a difficult fit it may be tricky to get the best result over the course of a week without missing too much slope time. Blues in Edinburgh sold my first pair that were really poor so i am reluctant to use them again....the other shops have had very limited choice so perhaps snow and rock in newcastle might be worth a few trips. Thanks for all comments... |

Does anyone have a suggestion on a good boot fitter in the Edinburgh area?
I have tried on about 15 different boots in 4 different shops over the past month and can't get a boot that feels anything like comfortable. Every shop has a different explanation and all have said that I will have to compromise and has the shell blown out but surely my feet are not that odd!!!! Problem seems to be a combination of high instep with medium width and squarish toes - sounds like a duck (but I don't talk or walk like one!) With time running out to my next trip I am starting to worry (old boots were my first and after six years of pain I've had enough) so thought that I should seek out a real pro fitter..... Any thoughts would be appreciated |

I think that I am the polar opposite to you Andy.....I arrive on the slopes certain that I can ski, then, realise over the first day that I have forgotten everything that I learned last year!

Andy, we used clubmed at avoriaz in feb this year...their package is fully inclusive including hosting/instruction for the week. We racked up the miles across the whole of the
POS without a piste map. They can appear expensive but everything (except kit hire) is included.....really good food, passes, mojitos etc. The company was mixed and very friendly..American, Russian, Israeli, Spanish, French and some Brits. The skiing was fantastic with a real mix of runs. We are going to Morzine in January then back to MW in L2A in Feb (for the 12th time!)..... Rob |

Try ski-transfers.com enter details and you'll get lots of quotes. You can choose private or shared transfers.
We agreed E370 for 8 people from Grenoble to L2A return. |

Hi Andy! Yes and yes!
Easyjet fly to Grenoble from Edinburgh on the Saturday and Back the following Sunday.....meaning we need a hotel for one night. We are going to Morzine in January and L2A in Feb as there are two kids in our group who are beginners....berangere is fantastic for the kids to go up and down the button whilst we sit in the bar late afternoon. I have booked for next season to fly into Grenoble but need to stay around the airport for the first night.....
Can anyone recommend a reasonable hotel that is not too far from the airport? |

Congratulation....snow is fantastic but still very windy. Weather due to clear this afternoon so Sunday 1pm will be great. We are doing L2a on Sunday too......hotel manager sent a pics of snow yesterday.....can't wait! |
