Mmmmm let me think..... Not on your nelly. There mine to scratch and scuff.

Still - they do look fab and they look fast just standing there in the corner.

I can't wait - may have to have an hour or so at Xcape MK.

Spot on.

You only need the same stuff as you'd wear on a cold night out in the UK.

BUT - if you feet are in those boots as comfy as slippers (board boots) then just stay out in them as snaffle a few beers before anyone else get out.

My new Atomic Blackeye's 170 arrived 3 weeks ago.

Kept looking at them since then - not going into action until 1st Feb.

Should I put them away or keep them in view?????

Les Menuires or Superdevoluy Transport

Hi Stuart84.

I'm off to Les Menuires too this season - first time.

We're flying with EasyJet to Geneva and then using a Private transfer business. There are 7 adults so the cost is not too bad, when shared around. Also, we only there for 4 nights, but with an early flight from Stansted and a late one home, we can get nearly 5 days of skiing in. Therefore hanging around for 'slow' buses is something to be avoided.

I'm sure buses to the ski resorts are going to expect people to be carring skis / boards and therefore can't really make a big issue about it.

As has been said a number of times on J2ski. The price start to fall, if demand is slow.

I guess trip for departure 4/6 weeks ahead will start first.

I can't see March departures falling much, until the Jan????
Telemark / Free-Heeling

I'd also second the comments regarding how 'elegant' telemark appears.

I guess it's like most things - once you can do it, it's rather easy. The problem is the learing curve.

How long and how steep in that learning curve.

I'd love to give it a go - but deep down I know I'd go rushing back to what I know - as not to 'waste' too much time on that 'learning curve'.

But total repect to anyone that has more will power than me. :)
So who is off next

1st Feb - The 3 Valleys. Going with 9 mates. 8 year running we've had a mates ski trip. 4 hardcore have made the 'lads' trip - dispite 4 new born children all arriving during the 'season'.... Anyway - far too long to wait.

Then 28th March - La Plagne. Totally different trip. Going with just my 8 year old son. His 4th week. Not quite as good as his old man... but it's only a matter of time.... Far FAR too long to wait.

Reading some of the other threads - regarding injuries / accidents. Am I right in think that the 3V's has a little history. What pistes are more prone to accidents - where do we really need to keep our wits about us??

I have a 'tube' made from an old duvet.

Cut it in to about half - long ways, so you have a duvet about 6ft by 3ft. Fold it over, so it's now 6ft by 18ins. Sew up the long side and one of the short ends. Job done.

With just one end open, I can slide it over my skis and then into my ski bag.

Works a treat.

Thanks MUM for making it.
