Ski carrying device

If it is a short distance, then over the shoulder. Otherwise, my rucksack has the ability to carry poles and skis, and as Ranchero states, the weight is then carried by the legs. Also, it means my skis and poles are vertical and less likely to poke someones eye out or smash their kneecaps

Hmm, I guess that depends on what part of January you mean. I was there from the 28th Jan, and the snow was excellent. However, if you asked me what the weather was like in the UK in mid-June, I would not answer with the same as what we are currently having.

Equally, people always seem to remember what has happened recently as if it were the norm, and I believe that Andorra has had a late start over the last few seasons, so there are a lot of negative comments.

I have tried to find some historical data for you, but as I was at a wedding last night, my head hurts and my googling skills seem to have deserted me this morning. However, what I did find might be useful for you. First link is a site with plenty of info about your parks (there are 5 pages dedicated to parks, use the freestyle drop down menu) Grandvilara.com and the second site has some comments about snow making and grooming at the bottom snowcarbon.

At the end of the day, if you want the best possible chance of good snow, you may be better off looking at a much higher resort in the Alps or in Western Canada. But even they can have their bad years

Haggis season is in January. Any Haggis you get now will have been frozen since being caught back then

Probably a good call. Although I skied in the area, I did not visit the town of PDLC. It did look bigger and more livelier than Soldeu though.

FYI, it is very easy to get around the various sectors, so be aware that as a town El Tarter is very small. You may be better off staying in Soldeu, although even that is not huge.

Hi Darr23, welcome to the forum.

I was in Soldeu a couple of years ago, and having checked the current piste maps, the parks which were there then are still listed as being parks.

The only one I recall skiing near was the one in the El Tarter sector. I have a picture of it, complete with the snow making in action. Click the thumbnail below for a full size version.

There is also another park in the Pas De La Casa sector and a smaller one in Grau Roig.

Check the Grandvalira piste map for locations.. Piste Map The yellow patches are the snow parks.

Hope that helps. Sorry, cannot give you any info on cheap boards.

Current black pants at the mo. Not sure what I'll end up with. Despite Far Queue's suggestion not sure I can get away with purple trousers.

Looks ok to me..
