Hi L.

Good X Europe info can be seen on http://www.seat61.com/Austria.htm#Innsbruck

There is a service listed as leaving London at 18.00, and arriving in Woergl at 10.46, next day. A range of fares are given.
Don't need a Monoski, Bandit, togetherness just comes natural. Uhmm, except for boilerplate, and er marble, also choppy crud, ... and porrage. In these conditions, would require two monoskis.

Which, I guess, brings us back to Fats. Whatever they are.
You are right GeodieSki, TKMax did email to say the stores would receive ski stock in the first week in September.

Called into the Dundee store two weeks ago. Only two racks, one with anoraks, "Dare to" standard, and one with salopettes. No peripherals yet.

Desperately need a pair of gloves. Mine died at the start of last season, and it took half a roll of silver "gaffer" tape to hold the thumb together. Made Pavel's gloves look brand new.

Ah, Trencher, it's true, age is a terrible thing. And it's coming to a place close to you, soon, very soooon.

Bandit, if you are referring to girth, then I suppose, its like my old school reports, "not bad at all, could do better."

Should you, on the other hand, be referring to skis, I recall trying some mediumish Fats. Couldn't get my feet together so gave up. :(

Hey ~ that's great Caron. Well done!

Now then, get double working on the knee exercises. Get the injured knee up to the same strength as the good one, and you are giving yourself the best chance.

Good Luck
Snow tyres or chains?

Refer to http://www.theaa.com/motoring_advice/touring_tips/AA_Austria.pdf

The hire car ought to be fitted with winter tyres, since it is mandetory to have them fitted in winter.

There are two levels of risk:
1. Due to conditions, the snow chain sign goes up on the mountain road. In those conditions, the police will stop and fine you. It is an easy offence for them to spot! Then the likely outcome is that the police will not allow you to continue.
2. Like other alpine nations, the Austrians are brilliant at managing snow on roads. Even in low resorts, you may be driving during a snow dump, and driving without chains is not possible. Without chains, you may be put you and your passengers at a pretty big level of danger. Further, you are going to a high resort.

Subject to weather forecast, I would be happy to risk a chain-less drive in the alps in late March, but not in January.

It pays to engage with the car hire operator, and make a few nice jokes. Then it becomes easier to ask about what kind of deal they can make on chain hire. We have managed 10 Euros a couple of times.

That doesn't look elegant either, because thier body movements are so unnatural.

Trencher,

I don't agree, then you might expect me too. A good neat skier can look good in different styles, be that legs together, or apart, carving, avalamont, telemark.

It may be that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

So who is the Monet, and who is the Damian Hirst?
