But the question is ... is that grimmis on his face from fear or from realizing that jump may not have been all that good an idea. His red Spyder (?)jacket looks like it may soften the landing a bit. But since you have your magnifying glass out Bandit, what does the decal on the roof rack say? I can't make it out - can you? :D Mike |

Now I know Pavel is referring to another student under the term "brighter"..... any brightness I may have ever had is fading fast.
But two years ago it seems we spoke of marking (in a non-distructive manner)the skis so as to call one left and one right. In this way after a time of skiing on well tuned skis we could switch feet and have a fresh sharp inside edge. We also spoke of the reason for de-tuning. The reason was that if we didn't de-tune there was the potential for the sharp portion to "catch" and throw off our balance leading to a fall. And we also spoke of the directions I provided in great detail for you to find our place ....and of your summer work during your college years ... and lots of other things too...not to mention a certain alarm clock which irritated the daylights out of you (sorry about that ...)... ha.. sleepless nights !!! Mike |

That saw does have a Jananese look to it and I did think it was out of line with the handle but thought this was from years of use scrapping wax from the floor... I can get my resolution to just about see teeth. I'll have to get a higher quality graphics card!!
Ohhh... If saws count, lets try the two I see. The one with the red plastic handle next to the boot (tongue sitting near by)on the bench on the left side of the photo ... ... and the keyhole saw with the wodden handle which is visible above the horizontal Rossignol "1/2 ski" (which as ellistine suggests must have met it's "use before date". Hidden in plain sight is part of this quiz!!! Mike |

Just a few quick ones....
Looking at the file cabinet on the work surface at the left.... the 12th drawer up from the bottom has a white tie wrap attached - this may signify a certain or special storage location for Pavel's special tuning supplies or screws... Also stored between the wall and the side of the 8th & 9th drawer we find the plastic ruler Pavel uses for frequent measurements on a small scale... Above the tips of the Rossignol, Head and Salomon 9000's we see some base material curved around close to the ceiling on the right side of the photo.... Still wishing for Jan's level of resolution !!! Mike  |

See?!! see...?!!!! You too are addicted to the Pavel Quiz, Pavel ... you want to give the hints just as we look for them !!! I see two hints this morning :!:
The new computer works well but not as well as Jan's! Wow --- how could he see that DIN setting ??? Is this the binding half which is right beneath the word "Dynastar" and the black "S" on the binding is in a horizontal line with the first "E" of MEGADRIVE? Wish I could have that type of resolution! Or was this by chance a good guess? I thought that kind of resolution only existed on the CSI television program. Jan, turn that resolution to the decal (slightly covered by the elastic band) on the ski carrier . The same decal is on the left edge of the Sainte-Saveur poster. I can't make it out but it looks like "Sannich". With your resolution it will be known to all!! Isn't this a fun quiz! Mike :D |

The Obvious Question ?
Pavel, could you be looking for us to ask if we use the ceramic stone for the de-tune using just enough pressure to dull the surface? Or is there something more obvious? I thought you left out nothing and all is clear. Mike |

Ohhh --- the addiction .....
Just a couple more... Item # 29; The silver plumb bob (for determining cant requirements) suspended from the tip of the black Head ski located about 9/16 of picture width from the left. Item #30; The pair of Salomon 9000 skis - black with blue and white graphics - located at the almost far right edge of the photo. Item # 31; Pavel's wife's ski of years past - the white ELAN ski with green and blue graphics -- located to the left of the Salomon 9000 on the right edge of the photo with the red (possibly Atomic) ski pole suspended from it's tip.... I'm anxious to learn what all the bindings may be. There are some dandies in Pavel's Museum!! Mike  |

Tha addiction of the Pavel Quizz is settling in !!!!
A few more items before my eyes say no more for today; Item # 19; Clip for holding skiing sunglasses on your car sun visor - silver in color --- located on the Rossignol front ski half on the Mont Sainte-Saveur poster and just covering part of the "L" Item # 20; A second larger Sunday River decal - located on the Mont Sainte-Sauveur poster behind the tip of the Fischer Rx9 ski. Item # 21; The Fischer RX9 ski with the Tyrola binding located in front of the Mont Sainte-Sauveur poster Item # 22; Rossignol red circular decal on the poster behind the Fischer ski and just lower than the front binding. Item # 23; Ski race timing device (aka:stop watch) located in suspension from a front binding section so that it is located below and to the right of the TAOS decal mentioned earlier. Item # 24; ski boot under repair/modification - more detail need here I guess... but it is located in front of the file cabinet and beneath the Toko way bag/cloth which is stapled to the back wall on the left side just above the 3/4" plywood work surface. Item # 25; The Toko wax pouch mentioned above Item # 26; The plywood ski work bench/surface mentioned above Item # 27; second Rossignol red circular decal -- located right og the first one at about center picture and about 6 inches from the bottom boundry of the photo. Item # 28; a third Rossignol red circular decal -- located left of the Dynastar ski about 5/8 of picture width from the left and sjhowing just above the white styrofoam sheet behind the heater. More later .... Mike |
