Good to see you back, Tone, always enjoy your tour reports. Zug sounds splendid (I haven't been to the Arlberg since 2000) so I'm sure loads have changed. Mind you, I haven't been to Sauze since 1978 and I have absolutely no desire to return any time soon; all the reports I read about the place are a bit worrying with regard to snow reliability plus last season's lift and piste closures due to a fatality. Hear, hear to a great winter season for everyone!

A couple of questions, Dobby, if I may? We have booked our lift passes, at the earlybird price, online via the SkiStar website. Did you do this? And if so, do you collect the passes from the SkiStar office on production of the receipt? Many thanks, in advance.

Well, I've finally done what I've been threatening to do and forsake the main ski trip to Switzerland for a holiday in Are next March! We're combining it with a weekend in Stockholm and taking the night train sleeper from the Swedish capital to Are, which sounds like it could be fun! I know there's a couple of Are fans on J2Ski so any tips/pointers would be appreciated. We're staying at the Fjallgarden Hotel just above the main village.

1973 would be correct. I wasn't under the impression it was the first show but it could well have been. It also did time at Olympia as well as Earls Court.

I don't wish to appear too pedantic but the ski show was first staged at the Royal Horticultural Hall. I went there for the Daily Mail sponsored show in 1972 or 1973!

From a personal point of view, the knock-out deal was anything but a financial disaster!!
