Emma, I know what you mean about some of the runs at the top in Niederau seeming almost eerily empty at times. I've been there 3 times and last March I was literally the only person for quite lengthy periods on the blue and red slopes as you turn left off the top of the gondola. It felt great for a while to have the whole place to oneself, but after a while I became somewhat uneasy !

Thanks; it sounds a good, big area for (among others) intermediate skiers like me. From what I read, Villeneuve seems the place to stay. Any other tips welcome ! |

Hi
I understand that the nearest significant resort to Vienna is Semmering. Not sure about the snow probabilities in March, but I've no reason to believe it's not ok, as it was mentioned to me by an Austrian colleague who has ski'd there. |
