You took the words right off me. Worse than tha, dunno about you Neil, I predate the regular use of piste machines, and after two days, every hill was a mogul field. Skinnys were not so good in the moguls. |

So there is a roped off line on the right of the Niederau Gondols queue, that is specifically for ski school classes. Quite sensible.
A lady instructor, red school, is shepherding her 10 year olds up the steps. She was already aware that young Donald, had made a beeline for the loo. AS the class reached the top of the steps, Donald appeared, at the bottom, and behind the fence. Lady instructor shouts, "Come on Donald, over the fence". Donald climbs the fence, but is faced with a wall of people, and he is only 4 ft high. "Up you come Donald!", I shouted, and gave Mel a nudge. "Straight through Donald", shouts Mel. Everyone else takes it up. "C'mon Donald", "Get through Donald", et al. It was like that scene at the railway station in Crocodile Dundee, "She says she loves you", and the crowd parts, and in our case, allowing Donald a straight route through. What nice people we are in Niederau. |

I'm a happy man Jan, oh that's so good, and guessing that they might switch the machines on in mid-December. You mentioned Phil's new shop, is this separate from Margreiter? Is it under the Brunner at the corner, where the old bank used to be? L. You have cheered me up, I had a mental 5 weeks. So see you in 4 weeks. Where do you hang out at lunchtime, and after skiing? We will be a party of 6, 2 beginners, and two free skiers. It's going to be another great winter. |

Most teachers don't ski. Of those that ski, a fraction go on school trips. As Ise says, they have their own lives. It isn't like you to overstate Tony! Five years ago, I helped the Alpinger bring a 14 year old English lad down the slopes, he had a potential back injury. When he was being loaded into the Ambulance, I suggested to the accompanying teachers that one of them might go into the ambulance. Reluctantly, one agreed. I gave the teacher some info about getting back to Niederau from the hospital, and, as an afterthought, asked him if he knew the name of his accomodation. It was the first day's skiing, and he didn't. Quick consultation with colleagues! |

Hello Macca, welcome to J2ski.
Jan already told you he was skiing on 29 March in Austria. I know, I was there, the skiing was great. Other J2skiers might be amazed at this, but since you asked for resorts, we might both, entirely coincidentally, suggest Niederau. I certainly will, have been there at the end of March for many seasons, and every year, when the lifts have closed, there has been skiing down to the village. The Auhof will do you a deal! On the other hand, over and above the base cost, Zermatt is less expensive than France. I can recommend the Hotel Atlanta. It does cost £550+, unless you can get a deal. But you can get a price direct from the Atlanta, and see if you can do flights & trains to do better. The Zermatt lift pass for instance is cheaper than VT. |

Tony_H for Chancellor. The exchange rate would be 2Euros/£, no taxes on flights, school holidays to be December to January, cut price ski deals for all. I commend this to the house. The man's a financial genius. Unlike our ex-chancellor. |
