Any J2ski-ers in Val d'Isere from week commencing the 21st who might fancy a bit of skiing with the missus and me (intermediates who know the area reasonably well but happy to see any hidden gems!) or maybe an apres pint then please PM me!

Cheers

Andy

Ive never used Snowberry but have been in chalets in VDI with peeps who had and they were pretty happy.

As OA says - talk to the people in the shop, they will help you if they can

I'm off to VDI in 2 weeks so a report when you get back would be appreciated! 8)

So, my humble opinion is that we have to open our minds about what we can do.

I have a very open mind about what I can do on skis - i.e there's a lot of open space in my mind as there's not much taken up by ski technique

Ive only been doing it 10 years or so but technique has changed as has equipment (there's a definite symbiotic relationship there) - an open mind is a great asset on the mountains

This year I got buy one get one free from Inghams at booking so there are deals to be had via the TOs - though I did book in about May....

So is that solely the lift pass, or did you book the rest of your trip with them. If it's the latter, I'd suggest they're hiding the cost of the pass in the total price. I tend to book my flights, hotel and lift pass separately. Partly for cost, but mainly for convenience of travel options.

That was the whole package in one place but as I paid £600 for a chalet in VDI inc flights and transfers they weren't ripping me off! I do often book lift pass direct but these offers were too good to pass up (pun intended)

bedrock barney wrote:Newcastle just too far I suspect. We catch the 7.04am from Newark which gets to Kings Cross at 8.37am. £41 return for the two of us (cheap as long as you book early) 10 min walk across the road to St Pancras and plenty of time for breakfast before boarding Eurostar at 9.30am.

To get to Kings X for 9 I'd have to get the 6am which is about £200 return - no cheap deals on that service- I use it a lot with work

ive looked at the train a few times but its a non starter if you live in Newcastle as its 3 hours to KingsX/St Pancrass before you start and, if you dont want to vernight in London, an expensive train down as its peak time.

No cheaper for me then and no quicker - oh and I like my sleep so the party train is a no no
