There is one place I can reccomend whole heartily
The Claudia. It is a pension that does its own B&B and then in the evening you eat at The Berghof (I think that is the name, is in the main town) - and can use their facilities. Claudia is fantastic only has 16 rooms or so - is very personal service. It is the only place I would ever stay there. The hotel in nearby Going is not good so wouyld not recomend as is a bit 'out of it'. Claudia is opposite the lifts so perfect location. Ellmau is an excellent small resort, some great traditional bars for very lively, dancing on tables to austrian music apres ski. This is making me want to slap my leather trousers! |

Think the only legal requirement is to have snow tyres, no mention of chains.
Hire cars have snow tyres and you have to order chains. This shows that they are not a leagal reqt - as budget told us when they forgot to give them us this year!! |

What are they? They the big 'sock' that is customisable by heat or something else 8) |

I miss the good old days of falling over in the lift queue and not being able to stand up....poles probably caused it!

It was a serious question. I find them good for rhythm and 'feeling safe'. When ppl learn these days they are tiught without poles. Is this to cvoncentrate on the skiing and not the rhythm sticks (I am sure there is a song about that....hit me with your rhythm stick,,,hit me :D ) |

What is the purpose of poles apart from push you along and stopping you from falling over on a green run?
