THis website gives information on st foy. There is also another good one, if you pm me I will let you know what it is. I think it is good on the very upper slopes, but hardly any lower down. But as St Foy is not very high in the village it does suffer from warmer temperateures, saying that it was -30C when I was there in January. If you have a car you should be OK, Tignes and Val D are about a 30min drive away and if the lifts are open you can connect to Les Arc. Your St Foy pass will give you reduced ski price cost in these for one day each(?44 i think). When it snowed lots when i was there (2 ft in one night!!) it was excellent skiing, powder all over the place. It is a quiet resort so the runs are brilliant. Hope you are not going for the nightlife though. Pm me and I can let you know some good restaurants. Hope that helps, bit of a waffle for 'what is the snow like?'!! Iceman |

SORRY DOUBLE POST SOMEHOW!!!
I suffer from slight poor criculation, consequently when it is cold I get terrible cold fingers - little finger especially. My gloves (Dakine Goretex) are nice and warm up to about minus 10 degrees C. When I went to France this year, temperatures for the last couple of days dropped to -20 or even -30. I had extreme agony in my fingers - especially on chairlifts when the blood was not flowing very well. I know you can buy special packs that you can put in your gloves to keep your fingers warm, but I dont really like wearing these. Can anyone suggest any other way of keeping my fingers warm - I want to be able to just wear my gloves on warmer days so dont want "thicker gloves" Iceman (sometimes literally!!) |

;) Think you will find it difficult to find such forcast, plus like this site says anything past 2 days cannot be relied on.
There is a website www.ifyouski.com That is a really handy site, worth a look there. |

I am off to St Foy on Sat (20th Jan), There is a good amount os snow on the tops at the minute and I am led to believe that it keeps snow for much of the season. The advantage with St Foy is that it is great for off piste but is also very close to the larger ski area of Tignes and Val. However there are only about 5 lifts there.
But if you have no car, getting to these places will mean that you have to rely on the public transport. Not sure what that is like as we always drive. Iceman |
