Fingers crossed for everyone with travel plans this weekend. Hoping that they sort out the roads and airports quickly for you.
Well, in keeping with the Alpine spirit I've been out this morning and cleared the fresh snow from the pavement outside my house (and my neighbour's door). I wonder if it'll catch on. My only regret is not doing it yesterday too. Stupidly listened to some scaremongering that if I did I could be liable for anyone falling. Now yesterday's snow has compacted into ice overnight so I've had to salt that to break it up.

I'm quietly miffed though that snow was forecast last night and the night before and yet there was no grit whatsoever on the roads. I'm on a main road used by everyone for access to the nearby M4, and it's a bus route so really no excuse.

 Admin is a robot? With a swiss army knife style arm which holds all these items? Why don't they sell Admins in the shops then? Can you get an upgrade to include sat nav and a video camera?

Flippin heck you'll be telling me he's my father next. I can't handle this I'm going to bed.

Billip - believe me if it was only caution at stake we'd have done that already!

I shouldn't be greedy though. We've already extended it from 7 days to 11.

We return to the UK on 8th Jan so seems we will miss everyone :|

Thankfully (in one way) our flights are early so we'll be spared the trauma of mixing with fresh arrivals all raring to go, while our bags are packed ready to come home. That's a killer.

Looks like your timing is perfect to me. And it doesn't look unusual for December to be on the sparse side for snow so it really is too early to be fretting.

P.S. Good on yer for giving your partner such a fab present. I was taken skiing for my birthday last year and it was probably the best b'day I've ever had.
