Better renting straight off. If anything boots should be purchased but at absolute beginner level aren't essential.

Dry slope would be good to get you going, indoor on real snow would be a lot better.

I have goggles with Pink Iridium lenses which are purely for flat light. Black iridium at other times.

I'd take the risk. Go for the cheaper one and you may get lucky - the chance of saving £60 odd, for me, far outweighs the possibility of having to pay an extra £13.

Google about - goggles have been released recently with a HUD with such things as altitude/speed etc.
More snow on the way this week :D

I don't know quite how to describe the type of snow we have just now. The heavy snow on top and the less dense snow underneath makes for interesting skiing (and high avvy risk).
