St Anton - Equipment Cartel?

Not sure about St.Anton, but in Lech we managed to get 10% discount because my s-i-law showed her SCGB membership card.
It's time for new boots...

These new boots are making me feel very untrendy! I am still wearing the same snowboots I bought from C & A fifteen years ago for about £9.99 and have worn on every ski trip and then throw in the washing machine after each trip. To make up for this, I did buy myself a rather snazzy new pair of sallopettes this week however. :)
early skiing-where to go!?

If you can find a deal, St. Anton/Lech/Zurs is pretty snowsure then. We have stayed in Lech for that week for the last three years and had fantastic skiing. Not exactly cheap but we book late to help the budget!

Thanks for input - I think we will try Ischgl if the right deal comes up!

Tempted by Ischgl but not sure about the runs back to resort which are red and seem to get unfavourable reports.
We would be going second week of January so snow conditions should be good?
My concern would be for one of our party for whom it would be fourth week on skis. He would certainly be prepared to try the reds but I don't want to spoil his enjoyment of the holiday if we can't all ski back down together.
Any thoughts please )
Two Italian resorts which might suit you are Prato Nevoso and Folgarida. Both are small friendly villages with great beginner runs to boost confidence.

(from lady in her fifties who learnt to ski when 39/40 ish) :D
I have been looking longingly at my ski boots since the beginning of August I think. As I live at the seaside, the end of summer also means being able to get round the shops more easily and with less holidaymakers wandering aimlessly down the high street! Oh dear - I'm a grumpy old woman aren't I
