I can assure you Rose that I am not a sophisticate, or whatever the correct noun is. In the past, a car mag has been there, but when the car is bought, that is the end of it.

Last year, I mentioned to No 1 son that I was going for a new car. Amongst his other reporting jobs, he is a motoring editor. The following week, I had a four ft pile of car mags. Too much information man. I was gonna buy a land rover anyway.

My view of art may have a correlation to your man's view of Star Wars. It also fits with my general view on life, you look and learn. Scattered around the house, (Usually behind the bathroom door!) are copies of Reubens and Vermeer, done purely for learning purpose.

Wait til I put some of the Tirol artists on J2ski! I think Alfons Walde is the bees knees!

Sorry to hear about the job Tony. You are a pretty resilient guy though, so I'm sure things will work out good for you.

Think you should be pushing through your project, that would be a good opportunity.

Have you threaded the string through the corner yet? :D

It's not me that has the problem, gel! :-)

Just at elbows length from the Royal Throne, there is a small table, upon which I have, this week's Private Eye, the Thomson brochure, a copy of the life of Carravagio, same for Vermeer, same for Rubens.

Thanks for the warning Bandit. I registered yesterday, but have not yet clicked to any "friends". It was a bit wierd after registration, that suddenly, a pageful of people I recognised, appeared.

I am still a bit wary of facebook, so I am not sure I will continue. I don't like the idea of your full name and email address being put out to A&S.

Anyway, all the J2ers should be back on J2Ski, show a bit of loyalty. We seem to be somewhat low on actives just now. Still, those who are here are all good value!
A couple of hours of tennis, then headed for garden, sunny but too cold for a barby. Two hours cutting the grass in the ride-on, listening to the ManU game on the headphones.

Time to head for the Shiraz, methinks.

And a read of the Inghams brochure.

The only time I ever broke stick was in Pablo-land. Usual Escobar conditions, frozen piste, anything in your way, like a ball of snow, was rock solid. Managed to hit a lump with the tips, and automatically whanged the stick into, or to be more truthful, towards the permafrost. Next but one turn, nearly went A over T, cos the stick was 6 inches shorter.

Blah.

I guess I'm just lucky or not adventurous enough

Ian, I believe I am talking self-preservation, and trying to stay alongside my (then) 15 year old no 2 son.

Most of the time we are shoping just for the two of us so the cost is not so bad. We always try to shop local, because we had a small shop in our village at home that was more expensive than the nearest supermarket, and has now closed down. Small shops are a great place to meet locals home and abroad.

I'll shop local if they charge reasonable prices, the trouble ski resorts don't

Bit of a generalisation Wickers, in N. we have three supermarkets, and one local shop. You can walk to all, except a ski bus to the furthest supermarket.

My favourite is the wee shop, Klingers. You can buy almost anything, there, although it's a bit like your front room, and back parlour. I learned a lot of my German in there. If you go there more than two years, you will be remembered, and they shake your hand. Beer from 2 Eu, wine from 3 Eu. Good wine 5 Eu. And then there is food, of course!

Prices cheaper than the UK in all 4 places.
