Same. I like the idea, but in reality I just get a headache from trying to read in sunlight and cannot just lie there.

Fave holiday was a week on Ardeche river, followed by a week in La Clusaz.

Decision made.
Borrowing a long roof box that will take 4 pairs skis, boots and apparently plenty besides.

Not seen it yet.

Incidentally, is there nothing on the market that will protect bindings or is it a case of fashioning something yourself?

I think I am allowed a big smile here.

No skiing last season and going 31st March this year.

Only been a tiny bit concerned about the snow because we've got cars and will be near Chamonix, but nice to know there's been a freshen up.

Now that's a good idea. So a narrow box as well as ski rack.

We have an estate car, even with roof box will be under the max height allowed.

I have a large box and it makes maybe one or two miles per gallon difference on a long haul.
