That late in the season I'd opt for Les Arcs with a day in La Plagne rather than the other way round. La Plagne is largely south facing and can suffer from slushy conditions.

Since they've driven out many chalet operators, they probably now realise they need to do something to boost visitor numbers.

I think they missing the mark by a long way. Dine at "The Lodge" for £75?! Jog on!
Same old jaded format at a new venue. |

When I book a guide I need to know that they have an intimate knowledge of local terrain. I'd be nervous of booking with a company who aren't based in the resort.

Given that the traditional alpine events are becoming less dominant with each games, I don't see going to China as a big deal. With focus being increasingly on slope style, moguls, big air, pipe and skier/boarder cross, vertical drop becomes less important. As long as they have the ability to make snow to compliment what's already there, they'll be fine.

Ski hosting didn't venture onto black runs let alone off piste. There seems to be a great deal of confusion over what ski hosting is. If ski professionals think they are going to be busy because of the end to ski hosting they are in for disappointment! |
