Done it at last, finally made a booking. going back to Niederau on the 13th March this time staying at the Harfenwirt. If it is half as nice as the Sonnschein where we stayed last year it will be fab. I've just got to star counting down how may sleeps we have to do, Oh my, cant wait. To everyone who is due to go have a fantastic skiing time. :D

Hi, this was our first skiing trip 2yrs ago and from a very first time point it was okay (we had nothing to compare it to). We stayed at the Hotel Sport AI. although basic was clean warm and dry. food was also basic but eatable. We went in February and snowfall was enough for us to go into ski school everyday, and although the resort was busy on the beginners slope it was never overcrowded. The wait for the lift was not overly long. Each lunchtime our instructor would trudge us back to the hotel to have lunch as a group, i think maybe the instructors pick up some kind of bonus for wht is spent in the restaurant, it was cheap enough 2yrs ago dont know about now, we did not have any complaints. Last year we went to niederau and it was then we realised what a difference there can be in terms of equipment hired it was of a much better quality. All in all Poiana Brasov for a 1st timer was ok, although there were lots of return skiers who had been 3-4 times. i think the transfer time is about 3hrs. I hope this helps

thanks for that. can i take it that transfers can be the killer to what might otherwise be a good deal.

just been reading about organising your own trip and what Neneziss has booked sounds really good and at a price that appeals. we have always booked with trav. agent. How easy is it to pull everything together including flights, accom. ski school and ski hire. is it best left to experienced skiers or can green beginners pull it off. thanks.

thanks for that, will certainly consider it, will probably suit us. thinking of going in March or, whether to go back to where we went last yr. Niederau where we had fab time. Because our skiiing time is probably limited we should really try diffent places.

I will go back to beginners class to improve confidence, husband has made much better progress and will go intermediate. things like ski conditions, best time to go, cost or anything else you might know. although i am making slow progress i absolutely love it, we try to go to the chill factor in Manchester whenenver we can. cant wait to make a hol. booking. thanks everyone.
