Tignes dam lake drained down.

Joking apart, LOTA, the old village is used as a centre piece for a French TV drama called "Les Revenants", "The Returned". A kind of a zombie approach to what happened to the village, when the dam was being built, and the villagers tried to fight against it.

It is drained every 10 years for maintenance.

A wee Tignes story. Many years ago, I was woken by Frau Mac, with an early morning coffee. She had been on teletext, (must have been a good few years back), made the phone call, and the early morning coffee was to let me know she had booked a week in Tignes.
"Great" says I, "when are we going"

"Eleven o'clock", says the good lady.......

I had heard that too, LOTA.
Notably, a couple of Ipads had been left behind, plus several pairs of Rossignals......
I know how good Scottish skiing can be in April. When I was Manchester based I ran Trans Pennine Ski Club, visiting Cairngorm every weekend until Easter.

I have now lived most of my life in Fife, just 80 min from Glenshee, but a 5 hour return to Cairngorm and 6 hours to the Lecht.

If it is a saeur fecht from Fife, it is surely much more difficult from the south. It was the case that the locals could make up the base load for the mountain.

When I worked for the ski school in Niederau, there were no mountain first aid men, it was left to the instructors to deal with accidents and injuries. We were trained to set broken legs, ankles, wrists, etc, and then transport the unfortunate person down the mountain.

So that stripe down the leg of the ski pants was quite a thoughtful piece of design.

It lets you understand, when straightening the leg, if you should twist the foot to the left or to the right....
How old did your kid start to skiing?

A few years back I asked Fritz Strobl the same question ~ he said age 3 to 4. You do, however, see many two year olds skiing.

We had my grandson on skis at 2 years old, but just playing. Then this year he started skiing.

At two years old:

At four years old:

You actually have no idea at all do you, David?

Whilst I rarely reply directly to your posts, Anthony, on this occasion, nope, I have no idea.

It's making me bumpy. I still have a season pass for Tirol ~ which could be in downhill mode....

However, I am sat going through building/architects drawings for son No 2, and project drawings/specifications for my place, major stuff this year. Need an early start, so beyond the odd couple of days skiing in Scotland, (quite likely), the season has moved on.

I have to knuckle down. Need to re-build my brownie points for next ski season, skied 6 resorts last season. My next season plan is a tad larger.

Whoever said planning skiing was easy?
