Much against my normal practice, last night I booked the Hotel Boton D'Or in La Thuile for a week from March 2. Have return flights to Geneva for £35 and transfer for 100 Euros - very decent deal!
Even three to four hours is on the hugely optimistic side, especially if it's snowing as they're very hot on the need for snow chains!
You'd be doing double the speed limit to get from San Francisco to any of the Tahoe resorts in two hours!!

I'm interested to know how skis 'freeze' overnight and don't freeze when left outside a mountain restaurant in sub-zero temperatures or when in contact with the snow all day or on a bitterly cold chairlift at altitude! :D

Hello Ariel, I know there's a kosher hotel in Arosa, Switzerland, that caters for Jewish clientele (Hotel Metropol, I think) and there are three ski schools in the village (Swiss, ABC and Private). Perhaps that hotel might be able to assist and point you in the right direction.

You've described miserable gits - you give them a tenner and they'd complain it was creased! That attitude prevails whether they can ski or not!

That's a touch arrogant, Mr Bum, who decides who can ski and who can't? :)

I prefer to say there are two types: those who go skiing and those who don't! :)
