I think it is a good run, far more varied terrain that Valentin and as you say so much quieter.
But depends on where in the resort you are returning to.

Renting a car would be your best bet.
I'm not aware of any realistic public transport - train/bus etc - links that could work for you.
You have a long journey between resorts, don't forget that mountain passes are closed during the winter so don't be fooled by mapping software!

And I had BE down as quite a sensible chap...........

What about Baqueira-Beret?
Spanish, high (1500m @ resort up to 2500m) and opens end of November which suggest snow cover expected to be reasonable by mid December.
